Items Not to Pack or Store

So you’re finally getting ready for your move or to put your items into storage. But when you’re going through your home, you’re finding that you aren’t entirely sure what can be packed and what shouldn’t be.  The Viking Moving Services team has put together a list of what not to pack or place into storage.

Don’t pack or store these items:

Personal Importance:
  • Jewelry.
  • Important documents.
  • Money.
  • Prescription medicine.
  • Photo albums.
  • Contact information for your movers.
  • Furs.
  • Pet food or baby formula.
  • Insurance policies.
  • Computer back-ups.
  • Cell phones.
Flammable or Explosive Items:
  • Guns, ammunition, fireworks, and other explosives.
  • Nail polish and remover.
  • Fire extinguishers.
  • Alcohol.
  • Car batteries.
  • Ammonia.
  • Matches, lighter fluid, Sterno, or charcoal.
  • Fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Liquid bleach.
Items Which Might Rot or Go Bad:
  • Perishable food items.
  • Plants and flowers.
  • Scented or wet items.
